Campus Placement Resume Format: What Recruiters Look For
Campus recruiters see hundreds of resumes in a short time. A clear, consistent format helps them find what they need in seconds and puts you in the "yes" pile.
Recommended section order
- Contact info and LinkedIn (one line, no photo unless asked).
- Education (degree, institute, CGPA, year).
- Experience / Internships (reverse chronological).
- Projects (with tech stack and impact).
- Skills (technical + tools, no generic "team player" lists).
- Achievements / Certifications (optional, keep it relevant).
Length and style
Keep it to one page for undergrads. Use bullet points, not paragraphs. Start each bullet with a strong action verb and include metrics where possible (e.g. "Improved API response time by 40%").
Before you submit, get a resume score to see if your format and content pass both ATS and recruiter expectations. Small tweaks can make a big difference in who gets shortlisted.
