How to Write a Resume With No Work Experience
No work experience doesn't mean an empty resume. Recruiters and ATS look for skills, projects, and potential. Here's how to show yours.
Lead with education and projects
Put Education at the top. Then add a strong Projects section: course projects, personal apps, hackathons, open source. Describe tech stack, your role, and outcome for each.
Skills and certifications
List programming languages, tools, and frameworks you've used. Add relevant certifications (Coursera, AWS, etc.). Be honest—only include what you can discuss in an interview.
Other sections
Achievements (competitions, ranks, scholarships), positions of responsibility (clubs, events), and relevant coursework can fill the page meaningfully. Keep every line relevant to the role.
Use an ATS-friendly format and get resume feedback to see how recruiters and systems interpret your profile when there's no job history.
